That last point is the real headache, and the reason we work the way we do. What regular cleaning costs
The rate is per cleaner, per hour, and it depends only on how often we come. Weekly is £22 an hour. Fortnightly is £24 an hour, the small premium reflecting the extra grime a second week lets build up before anyone touches it. Nothing else is added: no VAT, no call-out fee. The bill is the hours your cleaner spends in the flat and not a penny more.
Put numbers on it and a weekly three-hour clean is £66. A fortnightly visit of two to three hours falls between £48 and £72, according to the length you choose. A one or two-bed flat in the Barbican usually settles at about three hours a week once the cleaner has a rhythm; a roomier maisonette, or a flat with a lot of glass to keep clear, tends to want a bit longer.
After the ironing as well? It is £12 an hour on top of the cleaning, set aside in advance so the floors are not rushed to make room for it.

A one-off clean is a different job
The one-off and the weekly visit are not the same purchase, and saying so up front saves any surprise at the price. Your regular clean is a single familiar face kept on retainer. A one-off is a crew, normally two cleaners for three hours, sent to put a whole flat back in order in one sweep. People reach for it before having people over, once the decorators have packed up, ahead of a parent staying, or simply when a fortnight has got away from them and only a full reset will do.
That service is £26 per cleaner per hour, with a £67 minimum, and two cleaners for three hours is the shape it usually takes. The higher hourly rate buys the things the weekly clean does not need: a team arriving cold to a flat that wants a deep going-over, plus the extra kit to finish it in a single visit rather than across several.
