Most Peckham homes settle into a rhythm quickly. Two hours a week keeps a one-bed straight. Three hours covers a family terrace, so long as the cleaner is cleaning rather than excavating toys. What a regular visit covers
The core of every visit is the same: kitchen surfaces and floor, the bathroom top to bottom, hoovering throughout, dusting, bins out, mirrors done. Beyond that, the hours are yours to direct. Some clients want the fridge shelves done weekly. Some put the skirting boards and window sills on a rotation. Some hand the cleaner a written list every visit, and that works fine too.
Tell the cleaner what matters and what does not. Inside of the oven, carpet stains and full-property deep cleans sit outside a domestic visit, mostly because they need kit a domestic cleaner does not carry up your stairs.
A rotation suits most regulars. One week the fridge gets emptied and wiped, another week the skirting boards and door frames get their turn. The standing jobs still happen every visit; the rotation rides on top of them.
Some jobs do not belong in a domestic slot at all: ceiling mould, hoarding clear-outs, exterior windows above the ground floor. We say no to those early, rather than doing a bad job slowly.
Expect the first visit to run longer than the ones after it. Months of build-up does not shift in the same two hours that will maintain the place later, so book the first one generously and let the routine settle from the second week.
Flatshares, families and studio hours

Creatives keep odd hours here. A fair few of our clients rent studios at Peckham Levels, the converted multi-storey car park on Rye Lane, or work around Copeland Park by the Bussey Building, and they are out when we come. A key arrangement covers it, and the flat is done before they get home.
Families cluster near the Rye, close to the park and the schools, and their brief is different again: floors that see park mud twice a day, a kitchen that feeds small children, beds changed on Fridays. For bigger one-offs we can send two cleaners and halve the clock time. The hourly rate stays the same; there are simply more hands in it.
Ironing is £12 an hour, bolted onto a regular visit or booked as its own slot. The basket that eats your Sunday evening takes a practised hand a fraction of the time. Shirts on hangers, everything else folded.
Keys, trust and the same face each week
Handing keys to a stranger is the real decision here, so this is the section to read twice. Every cleaner we send has been interviewed in person, reference-checked and insured. You get the same cleaner each visit, and when they are on holiday we offer cover rather than springing a substitute on you; you can also just skip the week.
Most regulars are out while we clean. Keys are logged and coded, never labelled with an address. If you would rather be home for the first few visits, that is normal and sensible, and nobody will think it odd.
If something gets broken, and over enough years something eventually is, you hear about it from us before you find it, and the insurance deals with the rest. That is what the insurance is for.
