What a visit covers
The visit is the upkeep clean that stops a flat sliding. Kitchen: worktops, sink, hob top and splashback, cupboard fronts, floor. Bathrooms: shower screen, tiles, basin, loo, mirror. Everywhere else: dusting, hoovering, mopping, bins out, and a bed change whenever fresh linen is left out. London’s water is hard enough to cloud a shower screen inside a fortnight, and the honest answer to that is a weekly wipe, not a miracle spray at month three.

Yes, £12 an hour within the visit. Leave the pile and the board out and say roughly how much there is. A fortnight of office shirts usually comes to about an hour. If the ironing matters more than the mopping some weeks, tell the cleaner and they’ll switch the priorities round.
What happens if I’m not happy with a clean?
