Most Loughton ovens we open belong to one of two kitchens: a 1930s semi up the High Road end, or a flat on the Debden estate that the London County Council put up after the war. Oven cleaning in Loughton starts at £77 for a single oven, cleaned in a non-caustic dip-tank and ready to use the same day. Racks, trays and the door glass soak in a heated tank in the van while a technician hand-cleans the cavity. No caustic fumes, and you can cook the minute we pull off the road. Ring 0333 555 2076 for a firm price in about a minute.

Last updated April 2026. Covering all of Loughton and IG10: the High Road and the station end, Debden and The Broadway, Borders Lane, and the bigger houses on the roads climbing up towards Epping Forest.

How the dip-tank clean actually works

Start with the method, because it is the part people get wrong. Most of the trade runs a dip-tank of some sort. What separates a real clean from a quick wipe is the chemistry, the bits people skip, and whether the person doing it has cleaned a few ovens or a few thousand. Ours have done the few thousand. The order it runs in:

  1. Dust sheet down, the worktop either side covered. The oven comes off the wall and cools right down if it has been on that day.
  2. Everything that lifts out, lifts out. Racks, trays, runners, the fan cover, and the inner door glass. Modern doors hide a removable inner pane, and the baked film trapped between the layers is the real reason an oven still looks grubby after you have scrubbed yourself raw. We unclip it. Most people never knew it came out.
  3. The removable parts go into a heated tank in the van, a non-caustic water-based degreaser held around 60C. Twenty to forty minutes in there shifts the lot: carbon, baked grease, the sugar glaze welded to a tray, and the hard-water scale crusted round the grill pan.
  4. While they soak we work the cavity by hand. Enzyme degreaser on the walls, roof, floor and back panel, left to dwell so the chemistry does the lifting rather than your wrist. Then non-abrasive pads, detail brushes round the seal channel and the element, and a microfibre finish. The fan blade gets extra time, because that is where carbon does the lasting harm.
  5. Parts out, rinsed, dried and refitted. Door glass cleaned on both faces, the gasket wiped, runners back in their slots. Exactly as we found it.
  6. A quick function test. Oven on, fan turning, handed back ready to cook.

It is not glamorous and we have never pretended otherwise. It is the difference between an oven that looks a bit better and one that is genuinely clean down to the element, which is where the thing quietly decides how long it has left. Caked carbon on the fan is the commonest reason a tired rental oven gives up early.

We have seen worse than yours. Honestly.

No caustic stink, no day with the windows wide open, and the tea goes back in the second we pull off the road.

What an oven clean costs in Loughton

Price next, because that is what the phone rings about. A single oven is from £77. A double, the tall built-in sort with two cavities, is from £110. A 90cm range cooker is from £114, and a two-oven AGA from £143. Tell us what you have and roughly how far it has gone, and we hand you a firm figure on the phone before the van moves.

The whole kit rides in the van, so anything sitting near the oven is cheaper added to the same visit than booked on its own. A hob is £23 to £28, depending whether it is gas, ceramic or induction. An extractor hood with its filter is £28. A microwave is £22. A fair few Loughton customers tack the hob and extractor on once they see how the grease shows next to a clean oven.

No call-out fee, whether you are by the station or up near the forest. The figure covers the products, the kit and the drive, and you pay on the day by card or bank transfer. You also get a receipt on company headed paper, which matters when a Loughton letting agent wants proof the oven was done properly before a deposit goes back.

Loughton water is hard, and your oven shows it

Loughton sits on chalk-fed supply, and ovens cop it as badly as kettles do. Thames Water serves this corner and the supply runs around 300 parts per million of calcium carbonate, firmly in the hard band. Carry on up the Central line and it gets worse: the supply at Epping is reckoned the hardest on the entire Underground map, near 370 parts per million. Every time steam off a roasting tin meets cold metal, a little more scale gets left behind. Grill pans cloud over and the chrome on the racks turns dull and gritty under your thumb.

Grease and scale together are stubborn in a way grease on its own never is. A supermarket spray is built for the grease and slides straight over the scale, which is why so many Loughton kitchens end up with an oven that smells fresh but still looks tired. The dip-tank takes on both at once, lifting the carbon and the calcium off the same tray in a single soak, and the racks come out smooth again rather than rough.

We are not here to sell you a softener. We are just telling you the plain truth of the IG10 supply: scale is doing quiet damage on top of the grease, and a clean that ignores it has not really finished the job.

Loughton kitchens, from the forest roads to Debden

You can almost date a Loughton kitchen by the cooker standing in it, and for a single town it throws up a real spread. The Central line splits the place in two: Loughton station sits in zone 6 between Buckhurst Hill and Debden, in the airy 1940 building that replaced the old line, and the town climbs away from it in distinct bands that each cook a bit differently.

Up the hill, on the roads running towards Epping Forest, you get the grander houses: substantial 1930s detached and semi-detached homes on roads like Ollards Grove and Spring Grove, many with a big range cooker or an AGA at the heart of the kitchen, and decades of Sunday lunches baked into the cast iron. Those are a half-day of careful work and we genuinely enjoy them.

The middle band, around the High Road and Forest Road, is street after street of interwar semis, the bread-and-butter Loughton house, with a freestanding cooker that has stayed put far longer than it should. Those ovens take a weeknight hammering and need the help.

Then there is Debden. The estate to the north-east was built by the London County Council between 1947 and 1952 as out-county overspill, to rehouse Londoners whose homes had been bombed or lost in the war, and it remains a big chunk of the town, with The Broadway as its high street and the Epping Forest Shopping Park on Langston Road a short walk from Debden station. The flats and terraces here run from original post-war kitchens to recent integrated ovens whose door glass clouds fast and whose racks tuck to the back where a sponge will not reach.

Getting a van around Loughton is mostly easy. The town is outside the ULEZ, so there is no daily charge, and on-street parking is run by the North Essex Parking Partnership rather than a London borough. On most roads we pull onto the drive or the kerb. The spots to flag are the tighter streets by the station and the busier stretch of the High Road on a Saturday. Say so when you book.

What the price includes

Everything below is part of a standard oven clean, not an extra once we are through the door.

  • Full strip-down and reassembly of the oven.
  • Dip-tank clean of every removable part: racks, trays, side runners, fan cover, inner door glass, and range trivets and burners where there are any.
  • Enzyme cavity clean of the walls, roof, floor, back panel, fan, element and seals.
  • Both faces of the inner and outer door glass, with the hinges and seal gasket checked.
  • Control knobs and the front panel wiped down.
  • A function test before we leave, and same-day use, because nothing we use has to burn off.
  • All products, all kit, and the drive, wherever you are in IG10.

And the part that will not sit on a tidy list: a satisfaction and re-clean guarantee. If something is not right, flag it to the technician before they pack up and it is sorted on the spot. Spot it after we have gone and one phone call brings us back. It rarely comes to that, but the guarantee is there so you are not taking it on trust.

Booking and getting the van to you

It is a short phone call. Ring 0333 555 2076 and tell us the oven type, roughly how bad it has got, any add-ons like the hob or extractor, and when suits you. We price it on the spot and book the slot. Prefer it in writing? Email [email protected] and we will come back to you.

We run Loughton rounds alongside the rest of the Central line tail, so a booking here usually lands within a few days, and same-day or next-day slots come up often midweek. Month-end is the busy stretch, so if you are cleaning for a check-out inspection, give us a week where you can. On the day we turn up in a liveried van with the dip-tank aboard, and you can stay or head out.

Frequently asked questions

How much does oven cleaning cost in Loughton?

A single oven is from £77, a double from £110, and a 90cm range cooker from £114. A two-oven AGA is from £143. Added to the same visit, a hob is £23 to £28, an extractor hood is £28, and a microwave is £22. You get a firm figure on the phone before the van leaves, so the price on the day is the one you agreed.

Can I use the oven the same day you clean it in Loughton?

Yes, the moment we drive off your road. The dip-tank is non-caustic and water-based, so nothing has to burn off and there is no fumey wait with the back door open. The tea can go straight in. That is the main reason people in IG10 pick us over a caustic spray and a wasted afternoon.

Which parts of Loughton and IG10 do you cover?

All of it. Up the High Road, around the station and Forest Road, across the Debden estate and The Broadway, and the bigger period houses on the roads running up towards Epping Forest. We also reach Buckhurst Hill, Chigwell, Theydon Bois and Debden on the same Central line spine. Ring with your postcode and we will tell you when we are next on a Loughton round.

Loughton has very hard water. Does that damage my oven?

It does, more than most people think. This corner of the Thames Water region runs around 300 parts per million of calcium carbonate, and the supply up the line at Epping is among the hardest on the whole Underground map at roughly 370. Scale crusts the grill pan, films the door glass and roughens the chrome racks. The dip-tank lifts the scale and the grease off the same tray in one soak, without scratching it.

Do you clean AGAs and range cookers in the bigger Loughton houses?

We do, and there are plenty of them on the roads off the High Road and up towards the forest. A 90cm range cooker is from £114, and a two-oven AGA is from £143 and takes the best part of a half-day because of the size and the cast-iron enamel. We book an AGA as its own slot rather than squeezing it between other jobs.

How long does an oven clean take?

A single oven is about 90 minutes. A double is nearer two hours, and a 90cm range two to two and a half. An AGA can run to a half-day. We give you a realistic time on the phone so you can plan around it, whether you are waiting in or heading down to The Broadway.

When you can check your reflection in the oven door, it is done.

Do you do oven cleaning for end of tenancy in Loughton?

Often. The oven is the single most-flagged line on a check-out inventory, and a Loughton letting agent will usually want it spotless before a deposit is returned. We can clean the oven on its own or fold it into a full end of tenancy clean, and either way you get a receipt on headed paper that an agent will accept.

Is the dip-tank method safe for the oven and the kitchen?

Yes. The tank is warm and water-based, kept well below the heat that would warp metal or lift a coating, and the cavity products are enzyme-based and enamel-safe. Most of the real damage we meet in Loughton ovens came from years of caustic soda stripping the enamel, or wire wool scratching the glass. We use neither.

Do you clean the racks, trays and door glass as well?

Every part that lifts out comes out and goes into the dip-tank: racks, trays, side runners and the fan cover. We also split the door and clean between the inner panes, which is where the brown film you can never wipe off actually sits. It all goes back exactly as it came out.

Do you clean pyrolytic or self-cleaning ovens?

Yes, and a lot of the newer Debden and town-centre flats have them. The self-clean cycle bakes the cavity to ash but leaves the door glass, the racks and the fan cover untouched, and it does nothing for the hob or the extractor. Most owners run the cycle now and then and have us in once a year for everything the cycle ignores.

Is parking a problem for the van in Loughton?

Rarely. Loughton sits outside the ULEZ, so there is no daily charge, and on most roads we pull onto the drive or the kerb. On-street bays are run by the North Essex Parking Partnership rather than a London borough, so near the station or the High Road just mention it when you book and we will plan the slot around it.

Is Monster Cleaning a real, insured company?

Yes. We are Monster Cleaning Ltd, Companies House number 9919639, trading since 2014, registered at 255 Upper Richmond Road West, SW14 8QS, with a satisfaction and re-clean guarantee on every job. Our Trustpilot sits at 3.1 out of 5 across 128 reviews, which we would rather show you straight than dress up. Insurance papers go to landlords and managing agents on request.
