Open the average Romford oven and you can read the household: a year of Sunday roasts baked onto the glass in a Rush Green semi, or a compact single in a flat by the station that three tenants have politely ignored. We strip the burnt grease off by hand at a fixed price, and you can cook in it the same evening.

A single oven is £77 in Romford and a double is £110. A 90cm range cooker is £114, an AGA is £143, and while we are there a hob is £23 to £28, an extractor hood £28 and a microwave £22.
Oven cleaning prices in Romford
The single oven, the standard built-in with one cavity, is £77. The double, built-in or built-under, is £110. A 90cm range cooker is £114 and an AGA is £143, switched off and cool, of which more below. Those prices cover the racks, the trays, the fan, the door glass and the whole inside shell, finished by hand.
Most people add the hob while we have the kit out: £23 to £28 depending on type and size. An extractor hood and its filters is £28, and a microwave, including the combi types the newer flats favour, is £22.
One line worth repeating: the price is fixed. A filthy oven costs the same as a mildly neglected one, so there is no penalty for having left it a while. Everyone leaves it a while.
If you are weighing up whether to do the oven now or wait for some future whole-kitchen blitz, do it now. Grease hardens with every heat cycle, and the £77 job done this month is a smaller job than the same oven two Christmases from now.
How the clean works
Floor sheeted, oven cold, kettle on if you are feeling generous. The racks, trays and everything else removable go out to a heated soaking tank in the van, which handles the brutal half of the job outside your kitchen. Inside, we work a non-caustic degreaser over the shell and take the carbon off by hand, panel by panel.
Where the door design allows, it comes apart, so the grease film trapped between the glass panes goes too. That film is the brown fog no spray ever reaches, and losing it is the moment an oven looks new again.
None of the products used indoors give off fumes, so there is no airing-out period. Once the parts are refitted and dried you can run the oven the same evening; give it ten minutes empty at heat first and it is ready for food.
There is a longer walk-through on the main oven cleaning page if you want every step.

Romford kitchens and what turns up in them
The interwar semis that make up so much of the town have mostly been extended out the back by now, and those kitchens carry serious cooking kit: doubles, 90cm ranges, the odd AGA in the larger Gidea Park houses. Family cooking plus a fan oven means fine fat spread over every surface of the cavity, and a couple of missed years bakes it to lacquer.
A couple of missed years bakes fan-oven fat to lacquer, and no supermarket foam is shifting lacquer.
Around the centre it is the other story. The flats near the station and the Brewery, plus the office conversions along South Street, run compact singles and combi microwaves, and in rentals those get handed from tenant to tenant with a shrug. Agents and landlords book us for the week between lets. If you are moving out yourself rather than cleaning up mid-tenancy, see our end of tenancy cleaning in Romford.
The air fryer years have not helped either. Ovens get used less, watched less and cleaned less, then reopened for a big roast in a state that sets off the smoke alarm. December is our busiest oven month for a reason.
Water plays its part too. Essex and Suffolk Water supplies some of the hardest water in the country, over 300 ppm across much of Essex, so pan supports, hob glass and steam ovens around Romford grow a white scale crust on top of the grease. We deal with both layers, and the difference shows most on glass.
What a clean will and will not fix
Grease, carbon, burnt sugar, the fog between the door glass: all of that goes. What stays is damage. Enamel browned by years of heat, pitting in the glass, seals gone hard, scratches from old scouring pads. Cleaning cannot undo any of it, and we will not pretend otherwise on your doorstep.
Pyrolytic and catalytic liners follow their own rule. The manufacturers say no hard abrasion, so we clean them the way the manual allows and stop there. If your oven has a self-clean cycle, we will show you where our job ends and that function takes over.
We are cleaners, not engineers. Broken elements, dead bulbs and anything on the gas side belong to other trades, and we will point at the problem rather than poke it.
On the day
A single oven takes about an hour and a half. A double runs past two hours, and a range or an AGA is closer to half a morning. AGAs must go off the day before so the castings cool; book those with a little notice.
We need parking near the door because of the tank, which is rarely a problem in this town. Most streets off the ring road have a drive or open kerb, while the centre means a car park or a permit bay, and sorting that is our job rather than a line on your bill.

Preparation on your side is small: let the oven go cold, clear the worktop next to it, and warn us about tricky access. We bring the rest.
Somebody needs to be in for the start and the finish; the middle is ours. Work from home, do the school run, or pull up a chair and watch. A surprising number of people watch.
Who you are booking
Monster Cleaning Ltd, Companies House number 9919639, working across London since 2014 from 255 Upper Richmond Road West, SW14 8QS. Ovens, carpets and regular housekeeping are the trades we run every working day.
Trustpilot has us at 3.1 across 128 reviews. We do not polish that number, and we answer the poor ones in public. If something on your job is off, say so and we put it right; a second visit costs us less than a customer who feels fobbed off.
If the oven is only part of the problem, we also run carpet cleaning in Romford and weekly domestic cleaning in Romford, and combining visits is common.
Booking works by phone or email: 0333 555 2076 or [email protected]. Tell us the oven type and your postcode and you get a fixed price and a slot. We cover RM1 through RM7 and reach the rest of Havering weekly.
Frequently asked questions
How much is oven cleaning in Romford?
A single oven is £77, a double is £110, a 90cm range cooker is £114 and an AGA is £143. Add a hob for £23 to £28, an extractor hood for £28 or a microwave for £22. The price is fixed when you book, whatever state the oven turns out to be in.
How long does an oven clean take?
About an hour and a half for a single, a bit over two hours for a double, and up to half a morning for a range cooker or an AGA. The soaking tank in the van works on the racks and trays while we do the shell, which is what keeps those times down.

Can I use the oven the same day?
Yes. The products we use inside your kitchen are non-caustic and fume free, so nothing needs airing. Once everything is refitted, run the empty oven at heat for ten minutes or so, then cook as normal that evening.
Do you clean AGAs and range cookers?
We do: 90cm ranges at £114 and AGAs at £143. An AGA has to be switched off the day before the visit so the plates and castings are cool enough to work on, so those bookings want a couple of days of notice rather than a same-day squeeze.
Is it worth cleaning a rental oven between tenants?
The oven is the first thing a viewing tenant opens and the first thing a checkout report photographs. Landlords and Romford agents book us for exactly that turnaround week, and a £77 single oven clean reads a lot better than a deduction argument later.
Why is there white crust as well as grease on my hob?
That is limescale. Essex sits on some of the hardest water in Britain, above 300 ppm in many postcodes, and every boil-over leaves minerals behind on pan supports and glass. We take the scale layer off along with the grease instead of polishing over the top of it.
What will a clean not fix?
Heat-browned enamel, pitted or etched door glass, hardened seals and worn self-clean liners. Those are wear, and cleaning cannot reverse wear. We get everything off that can come off, and we point out at the start which marks are staying, so nothing surprises you when the door goes back on.
Do I need to do anything before you arrive?
Let the oven go cold, take out anything you want to keep unwashed, and leave us somewhere to park reasonably near the door for the van tank. That is the lot. If you live in one of the town-centre blocks, a heads-up about the parking arrangements helps.
