If you live in Enfield, the limescale is already working against your oven before the grease even gets a look in. This corner of north London runs some of the hardest water in the capital, so steam off a roasting tin leaves chalky scale on the grill pan and a film on the door glass that no kitchen spray will shift. We deal with the grease and the scale in one visit. Oven cleaning in Enfield starts from £77 for a single oven, cleaned in a non-caustic dip-tank and ready to use the same day. Racks, trays and the inner door glass go into a heated tank in the van while we hand-clean the cavity. No caustic stink, and the dinner can go back in the moment we pull off the drive. Ring 0333 555 2076 for a firm price in about ninety seconds.
Last updated April 2026. Covering EN1, EN2, EN3, N9, N13, N14 and N21 across the borough, from Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park out to Edmonton, Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill and Southgate, and up the Lea Valley to Enfield Lock and Enfield Highway.
What an oven clean costs in Enfield
Prices first, because that is what the phone rings about. A single oven is from £77. A double, the tall built-in sort with two cavities, is from £110. A 90cm range cooker is from £114, and a two-oven AGA from £143. Tell us the cooker type and roughly how far gone it is, and you get a firm figure before the van leaves.
The whole kit travels in the van, so anything sat around the oven works out cheaper bolted onto the same visit than booked on its own. A hob is £23 to £28, depending on whether it is gas, ceramic or induction. An extractor hood with its filter is £28. A microwave is £22. A good few Enfield customers add the hob on the day, once they clock how the grease on it suddenly shows next to a clean oven.
| What we clean | Roughly how long | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Single oven | about 90 minutes | from £77 |
| Double oven | about 2 hours | from £110 |
| Range cooker (90cm) | 2 to 2.5 hours | from £114 |
| AGA (2-oven) | half a day | from £143 |
| Hob (gas, ceramic or induction) | 20 to 30 minutes | £23 to £28 |
| Extractor hood and filter | about 30 minutes | £28 |
| Microwave | about 20 minutes | £22 |
No call-out fee. The price covers the products, the kit and the drive across the borough, and you pay on the day by card or bank transfer. You also get a receipt on company headed paper, which counts for more than people expect when a deposit is in play.

How we actually clean an oven
Most of the trade runs a dip-tank of one sort or another. What sorts a good clean from a poor one is the chemistry, the bits people skip, and whether the person doing it has done a handful or a few thousand. Ours have done the few thousand. Here is the order.
- The floor goes down and the worktop either side gets covered. The oven comes off the wall and cools right down if it has been on that day.
- Everything that lifts out, lifts out. Racks, trays, runners, the fan cover, and the inner door glass. Modern doors have a removable inner pane, and the baked film hiding between the layers is the real reason an oven still looks dirty after you have scrubbed it raw. We unclip that pane. Most people never knew it came out.
- The removable parts go into a heated tank in the van, a non-caustic water-based degreaser held around 60C. Twenty to forty minutes in there shifts the lot: carbon, baked grease, the sugar glaze welded to a tray, and the hard-water scale crusted round the grill pan.
- While they soak we work the cavity by hand. Enzyme degreaser on the walls, roof, floor and back panel, left to dwell so the chemistry does the lifting in place of your wrist. Then non-abrasive pads, detail brushes round the seal channel and the element, and a microfibre finish. The fan blade gets extra time, because that is where carbon does the lasting harm.
- Parts out, rinsed, dried, refitted. Door glass cleaned on both faces, gasket wiped, runners back in their slots. Exactly as we found it.
- A quick function test. Oven on, fan turning, handed back ready to cook on.
It is not glamorous work, and we have never pretended otherwise. It is the difference between an oven that looks a bit better and one that is genuinely clean down to the element, which is where the thing quietly decides how many more years it has in it. Carbon caked on the fan is the commonest reason the rental ovens we meet at an Enfield check-out have already packed up, and a clean a couple of times a year beats a fitter and a new appliance.
We have seen worse. Honestly.
Enfield water, limescale and your oven
Enfield has a limescale problem most locals know from the kettle, and ovens cop it just as badly. The borough sits on some of the hardest water anywhere in London, measured at around 315 parts per million of calcium carbonate, which puts it second in the capital behind next-door Barnet. Every time steam off a roasting tin or a pan of greens hits cold metal, a little more scale gets left behind. Grill pans go cloudy, door glass films over, and the chrome on the racks turns dull and rough under your thumb.
Grease and scale together are stubborn in a way grease alone is not. A supermarket spray is built for the grease and slides straight over the scale, which is why so many kitchens in Enfield Town and Palmers Green end up with an oven that smells clean but still looks tired. The dip-tank takes on both at once. The warm water-based solution lifts the carbon and the calcium deposits off the same tray in one soak, and the racks come out smooth again instead of gritty.

We are not here to sell you a softener. The point is simply that in Enfield the scale is doing quiet damage on top of the grease, and a proper clean has to deal with the pair of them or it has not really done the job.
Enfield kitchens and the ovens in them
You can date an Enfield kitchen by the cooker in it. Down on Gentleman’s Row, the run of Georgian houses overlooking the New River that Sir Walter Raleigh is said to have known, the stock is grand and old, much of it long since split into flats, each with its own oven taking heavy weeknight use inside a strict conservation area where ripping the kitchen out is simply not on. Walk out from the town centre and the borough turns to mile after mile of 1930s suburban semis, the classic between-the-wars north London build, most still on a free-standing cooker or a single built-in oven that has fed a family for decades.
South toward Edmonton and along the Hertford Road you meet post-war council blocks and ex-local-authority flats, compact galley kitchens with one hard-worked oven. Up in Winchmore Hill and Southgate it is solid Edwardian terraces and inter-war villas, while the newer flats around the Meridian Water regeneration off the Lea come fitted with sleek integrated ovens that look easy and are anything but, because the door glass clouds fast and the racks tuck right to the back.
Getting a tank around Enfield is straightforward most days, which is half the appeal of working out here. We run off Enfield Town station, the terminus of the Lea Valley branch that has been on the London Overground since 2015 and still runs down to Liverpool Street, and the bulk of the borough has driveways or quiet roads where we park right by the door. The town-centre streets around Church Street and the market hold short controlled bays, so if your road is in that ring, tell us when you book. The good news for Enfield drivers is the ULEZ: the borough sits outside the charging boundary, so an older car left on the drive is not racking up a daily fee the way it would further in.

What the price includes
Everything below is part of a standard oven clean, not an extra once we are through the door.
- Full strip-down and reassembly of the oven.
- Dip-tank clean of every removable part: racks, trays, side runners, fan cover, inner door glass, plus range trivets and burners where there are any.
- Enzyme cavity clean of the walls, roof, floor, back panel, fan, element and seals.
- Both faces of the inner and outer door glass.
- Hinges and the seal gasket cleaned and checked.
- Control knobs and the front panel wiped down.
- A function test before we go, and same-day use, because nothing we use has to burn off.
- All products, all kit, and the drive across Enfield.
And the part that does not sit on a tidy list: a satisfaction and re-clean guarantee. If something is not right, flag it to the technician before they pack up and it gets sorted on the spot. Spot it after we have gone and one phone call brings us back. It rarely comes to that, but the guarantee is there so you are not taking it on trust.
How booking works
It is a short phone call. Ring 0333 555 2076 and tell us the oven type, roughly how bad it is, any add-ons like the hob or extractor, and when suits you. We price it on the spot, usually inside two minutes, and book the slot. You can also email [email protected] if you would rather put it in writing.
Most Enfield oven jobs land within three to five days, and same-day or next-day slots come up often midweek. Month-end is the busy patch, when move-out cleans stack up across the borough, so if you are cleaning for a check-out, give us a week where you can. On the day we turn up in a liveried van with the dip-tank aboard, and you are welcome to stay, head to work, or get on with something in another room. We test it, show you the result, take payment, and leave you an oven you would happily put a roast in. Not sure how bad yours counts as? Send a photo of the inside over the phone and we quote it properly.
We are Monster Cleaning Ltd, registered at 255 Upper Richmond Road West, SW14 8QS, and Enfield is one of the boroughs our vans run in week in, week out.

Other cleaning we do in Enfield
Oven cleaning is one slice of what we cover across the borough. The jobs people most often pair with it:
- end of tenancy cleaning in Enfield, where the oven is the most-flagged line on the inventory and is built into every booking as standard.
- Carpet cleaning in Enfield, often done on the same visit when a flat is being turned round between tenants.
- Domestic cleaning in Enfield, the regular weekly or fortnightly clean, with an oven added on top once or twice a year.

Frequently asked questions
How much does oven cleaning cost in Enfield?
A single oven is from £77, a double from £110, and a 90cm range cooker from £114. A two-oven AGA is from £143. Add-ons booked on the same visit cost less: a hob is £23 to £28, an extractor hood £28, and a microwave £22. You get a firm figure on the phone first, so the price on the day is the one you agreed.
Do you cover the whole of Enfield?
Yes. From Enfield Town and Bush Hill Park across to Edmonton, Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Southgate, Enfield Lock and Enfield Highway. If your postcode starts EN1, EN2, EN3, N9, N13, N14 or N21 you are in the patch. Ring with your postcode and we confirm in seconds.
Can I use the oven the same day you clean it?
Yes, the moment we leave. The dip-tank is non-caustic and water-based, so there is no caustic smell to burn off and nothing to wait for. Dinner can go straight back in. That is the main reason people pick us over a supermarket spray and an open window all afternoon.
Enfield has very hard water. Does that hurt my oven?
It does, and more than most people expect. Enfield sits on some of the hardest water in London, around 315 parts per million of calcium carbonate, second only to neighbouring Barnet. Limescale builds fast on grill pans, door glass and any metal that meets steam. We lift the scale as well as the grease, and the tank does both off the racks without scratching them.
Will parking be a problem for the van?
Hardly ever. Much of Enfield is interwar suburb with driveways and quiet side roads, so we usually park near the door. Around the town centre and the station there are short controlled bays, so mention it if your road is in that zone. Enfield also sits outside the ULEZ boundary, so there is no daily charge to worry about.
How long does an oven clean take?
A single oven is about 90 minutes. A double is closer to two hours, a 90cm range two to two and a half. An AGA can run to a half-day because of its size and the enamel. We give you a realistic time on the phone so you can plan the rest of the day around it.

Is the method safe for the oven and the kitchen?
Yes. The tank is warm and water-based, kept well below the heat that would warp metal or lift a coating, and the cavity products are enzyme-based and enamel-safe. Most of the real damage we meet in Enfield ovens came from years of caustic soda spray stripping the enamel, or wire wool scratching the glass. We use neither.
Do you clean the racks, trays and door glass too?
Every part that lifts out comes out and goes in the dip-tank: racks, trays, side runners and the fan cover. We also split the door and clean between the panes, which is where the brown film you can never wipe away actually sits. It all goes back exactly as it came out.
Do you clean hobs, extractors and microwaves as well?
Yes, and they cost less added to an oven booking than done on their own, because the kit is already in the van. A hob is £23 to £28 depending on whether it is gas, ceramic or induction, an extractor hood with its filter is £28, and a microwave is £22. Plenty of Enfield customers add the hob once they see the grease show up next to a clean oven.
I am moving out of a rented flat in Enfield. Can you help?
Yes. The oven is the single most-flagged item on a check-out inventory, so we clean a lot of them for tenants leaving rentals across the borough. You get a receipt on company headed paper, which a letting agent or inventory clerk will accept as proof. If you need the whole flat done, our end of tenancy team builds the oven in as standard.
Do you clean pyrolytic or self-cleaning ovens?
Yes, and plenty of Enfield owners of them still book us. The self-clean cycle bakes the cavity to ash but leaves the door glass, the racks and the fan cover untouched, and it does nothing for the hob or the extractor. Most owners run the cycle now and then and have us in once a year for the rest.
Is Monster Cleaning a real, insured company?
Yes. We are Monster Cleaning Ltd, Companies House number 9919639, trading since 2014, with a satisfaction and re-clean guarantee on every job. Our Trustpilot sits at 3.1 out of 5 across 128 reviews, which we would rather show you straight than dress up. Insurance papers go to managing agents and landlords on request.
