An oven doesn’t need daily cooking to end up filthy, and Canary Wharf proves it. Kitchens here are compact, integrated and mostly electric, used a few evenings a week, and the thin film each roast leaves behind bakes darker every time the oven heats. We strip it back to clean metal and clear glass at a fixed price: £77 for a single oven, £110 for a double.

Last updated July 2026. Prices and the areas we cover are checked each season, so what you read here is what you pay.

A built-in single oven is £77 and a double is £110. A 90cm range cooker is £114, an AGA £143, hobs are £23 to £28, extractor hoods £28 and microwaves £22.

What oven cleaning costs in Canary Wharf

£77 for a single built-in oven, which is what most E14 kitchens have hiding behind a matching cabinet door. £110 for a double. Range cookers are scarce on the Island, kitchens here rarely have the metre of space to give up, but if you’ve got one, a 90cm range is £114 and an AGA is £143. Around the oven itself: a hob is £23 to £28 depending on type, an extractor hood £28, a microwave £22.

Each item is priced separately, so you pay for what the kitchen actually contains rather than a bundle invented to round the bill up. Tell us what’s in there when you book and the figure you get is the finished price.

One thing we won’t do is quote low and discover problems on the day. The state of the oven is already priced in. A shocking one just takes us longer, and that’s our problem.

Wharf kitchens, small and electric

Most of the newer towers never had a gas main run up them, so from Wood Wharf to Marsh Wall it’s induction or ceramic hobs and a compact electric single, tucked under the worktop of a kitchen that shares its room with the sofa. The build-to-rent blocks, the Vertus buildings among them, fit matching integrated appliances floor after floor, which means the oven belongs to the landlord and its condition sits on the inventory.

Open-plan is the other thing. When the hob sits four metres from the cushions, everything you fry hangs around, and very few Wharf kitchens vent outside. The hood pushes air through a mesh filter and hands it back to the room, and once that filter loads up, grease starts settling on worktops, cabinet doors and the inside of the very oven it was meant to protect.

And these ovens genuinely are little used. Plenty of our E14 customers cook properly twice a week and live otherwise off the microwave. It doesn’t save the oven. A light film of grease with dust bonded into it is harder to shift than the honest mess of a family kitchen.

The older stock plays by older rules. Cascades-era flats along Westferry Road and the Barkantine and Samuda estates still run gas hobs and freestanding cookers.

What we do to the oven

We take the oven apart before we clean it. Door off its hinges, glass separated where the model allows, then racks, side rails, trays and the fan cover out. The removable parts go into a heated soak while we work on the cavity, so the grease lifts off in the tank instead of being chased around the oven with a cloth.

Inside the cavity we use non-caustic products. A tower kitchen with a window that opens a hand’s width is no place for caustic fumes, and neither is an open-plan flat where the bed shares the same air. The cavity gets scraped and degreased, the fan cleaned, the glass polished, everything rebuilt, then a short heat-up to prove it all works and dry it out.

Allow about an hour and a half for a single, a bit over two for a double or a range. Floor sheeted, kit carried up the goods lift, signed in and out with the desk if your building runs one. You can cook the same evening.

Hobs, extractors and microwaves

Induction and ceramic hobs come up well when they’re treated right, which mostly means a blade held flat to the glass rather than a scourer. Burnt-on rings from boil-overs lift cleanly; deep pits from years of scraping stay pitted, and we’ll point those out rather than buff around them and hope. £23 to £28 depending on size and state.

Hard water plays a part here too. E14 sits on Thames supply at somewhere around 280 to 300 on the hardness scale, so anywhere a pan boils over dries to a chalky ring. We descale hob glass and the surrounds as we go.

Extractor hoods are £28. The mesh filters carry the whole load in a recirculating kitchen, so we degrease mesh and casing properly, and if there’s a charcoal cartridge inside, we’ll tell you it needs replacing rather than pretend a cartridge cleans.

The microwave is £22 and does more shifts than the oven in half the flats we visit. Steamed, degreased, done alongside the main job.

Who we are

We’re Monster Cleaning Ltd, registered company 9919639, working across London since 2014 out of 255 Upper Richmond Road West in SW14. Oven work is a big slice of what our E14 crews do, because the housing here is dense with rented kitchens and every tenancy change means an oven someone has to answer for.

On review scores: Trustpilot shows 3.1 from 128 reviews and we leave it visible. The complaints taught us more than the praise did. If a job of ours isn’t right we come back and put it right, and you’ll find that written under more than one of those reviews.

If the rest of the flat needs the same attention, we do carpet cleaning in Canary Wharf and domestic cleaning in Canary Wharf too, and the main oven cleaning page explains the service beyond E14.

How to book

Phone 0333 555 2076, or email [email protected] with your postcode and what’s in the kitchen: single or double, range width if you have one, plus hob, hood or microwave if you want them done in the same visit. Mention the building and floor so we can book the lift or warn the concierge.

We work the whole E14 patch: the Wharf and Wood Wharf, South Quay, Millharbour and the Marsh Wall towers, Millwall and Cubitt Town down to Island Gardens, and Poplar, Blackwall and Limehouse across the top. Moving out? There’s end of tenancy cleaning in Canary Wharf for that.

Common questions

How much does oven cleaning cost in Canary Wharf?

£77 for a single built-in oven and £110 for a double. A 90cm range cooker is £114 and an AGA is £143. Hobs are £23 to £28 depending on type, extractor hoods £28 and microwaves £22. Each item is priced on its own, so the quote covers what your kitchen has and nothing it doesn’t.

How long does an oven clean take?

About an hour and a half for a single oven, closer to two and a half hours for a double or a range. Hobs, hoods and microwaves add minutes rather than hours. The mess stays in the kitchen: sheets down, parts in the soak tank, nothing caustic in the air of an open-plan flat.

Can I use the oven the same day?

Yes. We finish with a short heat-up that dries the oven out and proves everything works, and after that it’s yours. Because the products we use inside the cavity are non-caustic there’s no chemical smell hanging around, and no waiting until tomorrow to cook.

The standard: enamel back to black gloss, racks bright, glass clear.

Can you get burnt rings off an induction or ceramic hob?

Usually. Boiled-over sugar and starch come off with a blade held flat to the glass, which sounds brutal and is the method the manufacturers themselves recommend. Scourers are what wreck these hobs. If the glass is already pitted from years of scraping pans, it will be clean but the pits stay, and we’ll point them out.

My oven barely gets used. Is it worth cleaning?

The little-used ovens are often the worst ones we open. A thin film from occasional cooking bakes darker with each heat-up, dust bonds to it between uses, and eventually the first roast of the winter sets off the smoke alarm. A clean resets all of that, and in a furnished let the oven gets checked at check-out anyway.

Do you clean extractor hoods and filters?

Yes, £28. Most Wharf kitchens recirculate rather than vent outside, so the mesh filter does all the work and saturates with grease. We degrease the mesh and the casing. A charcoal cartridge inside a recirculating hood is a replacement part rather than a cleanable one, and we’ll say so if yours is spent.

Can you work through my building’s concierge?

Yes, and a good share of our E14 jobs run exactly that way. Book the clean, tell the desk we’re coming, and we sign in, collect the key, do the work and sign out. Landlords and agents can book for a flat they manage and we invoice them directly.

Does hard water leave marks on hobs?

It does. Thames water in E14 is hard, and anywhere a pan boils over or steam settles dries to a chalky ring a wet cloth won’t shift. We descale hob glass and the surrounds as part of the job. It’s cosmetic rather than mechanical, but on black glass it’s the first thing your eye finds.
