How hot-water extraction works
People call it steam cleaning, which is close enough. The proper name is hot-water extraction, and it is the method that actually gets fitted carpet clean rather than just damp on top.
It goes like this. We vacuum first, because extraction is for the ground-in dirt and dry grit blunts everything. Then we pre-spray the pile with a cleaning solution and give the dirty areas a bit of agitation so the solution gets down into the fibres rather than sitting on the tips. Preston homes and their carpets
Preston is Metro-land, built out in the late 1920s and through the 1930s once the railway came.
