The people who ring us about regular cleaning in Clapham are not living in chaos. They are out the door by eight, back at seven, and the flat loses ground all week until the weekend goes on chores instead of the Common. A weekly cleaner at £22 an hour buys that time back.

Last updated July 2026. Prices and the areas we cover are checked each season, so what you read here is what you pay.

Weekly domestic cleaning in Clapham is £22 an hour, fortnightly £24, and a one-off £26 an hour with a £67 minimum. Ironing is £12 an hour on top if you want the basket dealt with too.

What regular cleaning costs

Weekly visits are £22 an hour per cleaner. Fortnightly is £24, slightly more because two weeks of kitchen film takes longer to shift than one. A one-off session is £26 an hour with a minimum of £67, and ironing is £12 an hour whenever you add it on.

Most Clapham flats settle at about three hours a visit. That makes a weekly clean on a two-bed £66, cheaper than most people guess before they ask. The full rate table and the small print live on the main domestic cleaning page.

No headline rate that doubles after month one. The hourly price is the hourly price.

What a visit covers

The kitchen gets worktops, cupboard fronts, the hob top, the sink and the floor. Bathrooms get a proper scrub: tiles, screen, basin, loo, and the limescale film that London taps lay down on everything shiny. Bedrooms and living rooms are dusted, hoovered and mopped, skirting boards and ledges included, with handles and switches wiped as standard.

The cleaner brings the kit: professional vacuum, microfibres, mop system and solutions matched to each surface. You supply nothing, although if you would rather a particular product went on the oak worktop or the brass taps, say so and it happens.

Regulars use the visits to rotate the extras. Fridge shelves one week, the microwave and the window sills the next, the oven door front the week after that. Leave a note or text the office and the brief changes; the cleaner reads it before starting, not after finishing.

A regular visit maintains a home; it does not resurrect one. If the flat needs a hard reset first, start with a one-off session and drop into the weekly rhythm afterwards. The inside of the oven is its own trade too, a strip-down job priced on the oven cleaning in Clapham page rather than something to burn two hours of a domestic visit on.

Flatshares, families and four-storey stairs

Clapham is flatshare country, and the streets off the High Street and around Clapham North fill with sharers every summer. The arithmetic for a shared house is friendly: a three-hour weekly clean at £22 an hour is £66, which split four ways is £16.50 each. That is less than a takeaway, for a kitchen and bathroom nobody has to argue about. One booking, one invoice, split it however the house splits things.

One booking, one invoice, split it however the house splits things.

Families in the Abbeville village terraces run a different week. School run, work, clubs, and a Victorian house that sheds dust from every original floorboard. Three or four hours weekly keeps a family house honest, and ironing at £12 an hour clears the basket that lives on the spare bed.

The Old Town adds stairs to everything. A Georgian townhouse near the Polygon can be four storeys of landings, and cleaning one is a different job from a lateral mansion-block flat by the Common, which is why we quote in hours rather than pretending one price fits every home. Tell us the layout and we will tell you the hours honestly.

The mansion blocks are the calmest work we do. A porter downstairs, a lift, rooms on one level, and three careful hours covers a two-bed to a standard the building itself seems to expect. Several of our longest-standing customers live in those blocks, which probably says something.

Saturday belongs to Venn Street market and the Common, not the mop. That is rather the point of all this.

One-off cleans

A one-off is £26 an hour with a £67 minimum, and it exists for the moments a routine cannot cover: the flat after a birthday spills back off the Common, the spring clean that never happened, the week before your parents visit. Be straight with us about the starting state when you book and we will be straight about the hours. Undershooting helps nobody.

If what you actually need is a check-out clean with an inventory in mind, that is a different job with its own checklist, handled by end of tenancy cleaning in Clapham rather than by the hour.

Who turns up, and what happens to your keys

You get the same cleaner each visit wherever we can manage it, and most of our regular customers keep the same cleaner for years. When yours is on holiday, we send cover briefed on your flat rather than a stranger with no notes.

Lambeth: another job wrapped up by our cleaners.

Keys run through a tagged system: a key held by us carries a reference number, never an address. Plenty of customers use a key safe instead, and in the mansion blocks along the Common the porter’s desk does the job nicely. After each visit the cleaner sends exit photos, so you can see the state of the flat from your desk before you head home.

Monster Cleaning Ltd, Companies House number 9919639, has been running cleaners across London since 2014. Not every review we have ever had is glowing, and we will not pretend otherwise. When something is not right we put it right, and that is most of why people keep us for years.

How to start

Phone 0333 555 2076 or email [email protected] with the size of the place, how often you want a visit and anything unusual: five flights of stairs, two spaniels, a landlord’s inventory in a drawer somewhere. The first visit starts with a quick walk-through so you and the cleaner agree what matters most.

Not sure which frequency fits? A rough rule that rarely misses: pets, small children or four sharers means weekly; a tidy household of one or two usually holds its ground on fortnightly. We would rather recommend fewer hours than sell you more than the flat needs.

We cover all of SW4 and its edges: the Old Town, the Abbeville streets, Clapham North, Clapham Park, the mansion blocks along the Common and down to the Clapham South end of the Northern line. If the carpets need a machine clean before the routine starts, carpet cleaning in Clapham is the other half of what we do, and we can line the two visits up.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a domestic cleaner cost in Clapham?

Weekly cleaning is £22 an hour, fortnightly £24, and a one-off £26 an hour with a £67 minimum. Ironing adds £12 an hour. A typical two-bed flat settles at about three hours a visit, so a weekly clean usually comes out at £66.

What does a regular clean include?

Kitchen surfaces, hob top, sink and floors, a full bathroom scrub including the shower screen, then dusting, hoovering and mopping through the bedrooms and living space. Skirting boards, handles and switches are part of the standard round, and you can hand the cleaner a priority list any week you like.

Do I need to supply cleaning products or a vacuum?

No. The cleaner arrives with a professional vacuum, cloths, mops and solutions for each surface type. If you would rather a specific product was used on wood, stone or anything delicate, tell us and we will use yours or bring it.

Will I get the same cleaner every visit?

That is the aim, and it is the normal outcome; most regulars keep the same cleaner for years. Holidays happen, and then we send cover who has been briefed on your home rather than left to guess. If you would rather wait for your usual person, we work around their dates.

Can a flatshare split one cleaning bill?

Yes, and half of Clapham seems to. The house books one weekly or fortnightly slot, we invoice once, and the housemates split it by whatever maths keeps the peace. Three hours weekly at £22 an hour is £66, which is £16.50 each in a house of four.

What happens if I am at work during the clean?

Most of our Clapham customers are. Keys can be held by us on a tagged reference-number system with no address attached, left in a key safe, or handed over by the porter in blocks that have one. The cleaner sends photos when the visit is finished.

What is the minimum for a one-off clean?

£67, at £26 an hour. In practice a worthwhile one-off on a Clapham flat runs longer than the minimum, especially if the last proper clean was a while ago. Be straight about the starting state and we will be straight about the hours it needs.

Do you do ironing as well?

Yes, £12 an hour added to a regular visit. Leave the basket out with hangers handy and the cleaner works through it once the cleaning is done. A week of shirts is the usual Clapham order.

Come home to it already done.
