Carbon on oven glass is baked-on sugar and fat, not dirt, which is why a cloth and washing-up liquid never touch it. We dissolve it instead. Monster Cleaning has cleaned ovens across Kingston upon Thames since 2014, from KT1 flats off Clarence Street to the Victorian terraces out towards Surbiton, and we do it without the caustic stink most people associate with the job.

Last updated April 2026. Prices and the same-day dip-tank method below are current for the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.

Here is the short version. We clean ovens in Kingston upon Thames from £77, using a non-caustic dip-tank in the van so you cook the same evening.

That capsule is the whole offer in one line. The rest of this page is the detail: what each oven type costs, how the dip-tank actually works, why Kingston’s hard water matters for your hob, and what we do when something goes wrong. If you would rather just book, the number is 0333 555 2076.

What oven cleaning costs in Kingston

Flat prices, no survey, no quote-by-email runaround. A single oven is £77. A double oven, or a single with a separate grill cavity, is £110. A 90cm range cooker, the wide ones with two cavities and five or six burners that are common in the knocked-through kitchens around Canbury, is £114. A two-oven AGA is £143 and takes the best part of a morning because the cast iron has to be done by hand, cold, with the right wadding.

Add-ons are priced to bolt onto an oven clean. A hob is £23 to £28 depending on whether it is a wipe-down ceramic or a gas hob with cast trivets and burner caps that come off. An extractor hood is £28, filters included. A microwave is £22, inside and out, turntable lifted. We will tell you the total before we start, not after.

One thing on pricing honesty. A single oven means one cavity. If you call it a single over the phone and we arrive to a double, the price changes on the doorstep, and nobody enjoys that conversation. Count your cavities before you ring and the number we quote is the number you pay.

The dip-tank method, and why same-day

The bit that makes the difference is the tank in the van. We pull out the shelves, the side racks, the trays, and the fan cover, and we lower them into a heated tank of non-caustic solution. While they soak, the cleaner works on the cavity by hand: the roof, the back wall, the door glass, the seal. By the time the cavity is done the removable parts are lifting their own grease, and a rinse and dry finishes them.

Carbon on oven glass is baked-on sugar and fat, not dirt, which is why a cloth and washing-up liquid never touch it.

Non-caustic matters for two reasons. First, your kitchen. Caustic soda gel is what most supermarket oven products are, and it off-gasses for hours, which is grim in a small KT1 flat with one window. Our solution does not do that, so you are not airing the place out until bedtime. Second, your oven. Caustic can dull aluminium trays and attack the printed markings on control knobs if it creeps where it should not. The gentler chemistry is slower, which is why we heat the tank, and it is kinder to the appliance.

Same-day use is the real selling point and it is simple physics. Nothing we use needs to cure or air out before the oven is safe to heat. We wipe down, we reassemble, we run the fan for a minute to clear any last damp, and you can put a tray in within the hour. People booking before a dinner, or a viewing, or a Sunday roast care about this more than anything else.

It is not magic. Self-clean pyrolytic ovens still get the same treatment because the pyrolytic cycle bakes spills to ash but leaves the door glass and the bottom edges untouched. We do those by hand too.

Kingston kitchens and the hard-water problem

Kingston has hard water. Properly hard: Thames Water puts the supply around 282 parts per million, well over the 200 mark that counts as hard, because the water comes off the chalk and clay that runs under this whole stretch of old Surrey. That is a limescale problem, and it shows up on your hob and your extractor as much as anywhere.

On a gas hob the burner caps and the trivets get a crust that is part grease, part scorched spill, part mineral. On a ceramic hob you get cloudy spotting that looks like scratches but wipes off once the scale is dealt with. Steam rising from pans carries that hardness up into the extractor, where it bakes onto warm metal next to the grease, and a filter that should slide out can end up glued in. We see it constantly across the borough.

So when we do a hob or an extractor here, degreasing is only half the job. We descale as well, which is why those add-ons are worth doing at the same time as the oven rather than leaving them. A clean oven under a furred-up extractor looks half-finished.

The housing stock shapes the work too. The new riverside blocks near Canbury Gardens and the bridge tend to have integrated single fan ovens and induction hobs, quick jobs. The period homes towards Norbiton and Surbiton, the Victorian terraces and Edwardian semis, more often have a freestanding range or a double, sometimes a second oven retrofitted into a chimney breast. New Malden, with its long-established Korean community, throws up a lot of high-use gas hobs and serious extractor grease from daily cooking, and those are some of the most satisfying cleans we do.

Different kitchens, same chemistry.

What we clean, and what we do not

The oven cavity, the door including between the glass panes where the drips collect, all shelves and racks, the fan cover and fan, the grill, the trays and the broiler pan. Where it is a range, every cavity and every burner. We take the door apart to reach the inner glass where it is the kind that comes apart safely, and we say so when it is the kind that does not.

Add the hob, the extractor and the microwave and the kitchen’s hot zone is done in one visit. The hob comes up to bare metal and clean trivets, the extractor gets degreased and the filters cleaned or swapped, the microwave is done inside and out.

What we do not do, to be straight about it. We are not a repair service, so if your fan motor is failing or a element has gone, we will tell you, but we cannot fix it. We do not move heavy freestanding ranges out single-handed if there is a tight gas connection behind, for safety. And we will not promise to lift a scratch or a stain that is etched into the enamel, because that is damage, not dirt, and no honest cleaner can polish it out.

Who we are, honestly

Monster Cleaning Ltd is a real company. Companies House number 9919639, trading since 2014, run out of an office at 255 Upper Richmond Road West, SW14 8QS, which is a short hop up the A307 from Kingston through Richmond Park’s edge. We are not an app that subcontracts to whoever is nearest.

On reviews, we will be plain. Our Trustpilot sits at 3.1 out of 5 across 128 reviews, which is a mixed score and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we have learned from the lower ones is mostly about communication and turning up in the window we said, and the oven side of the business is where we are tightest on that, because an oven clean is a fixed-scope job with a clear finish.

Which is why we back it. If you look at the oven after we have packed up and you are not happy with a patch, tell us before we leave or call the same day, and we come back and put it right at no charge. A satisfaction and re-clean guarantee only means something if it is easy to use, so there is no form: you ring 0333 555 2076, we sort it.

If you need more than the oven, we also cover the rest. There is a sister service for carpet cleaning in Kingston upon Thames and one for regular domestic cleaning in Kingston upon Thames, and if you are at the end of a let we run a full end of tenancy cleaning in Kingston upon Thames service where the oven clean is built in. For the method and pricing on ovens generally, including outside this borough, there is our oven cleaning overview.

Booking and what happens on the day

Call or email. Tell us your postcode, how many oven cavities you have, and whether you want the hob, extractor or microwave doing as well. That is enough for us to give you a fixed price and a slot. Most of Kingston is an easy run for us, and parking in the residential streets off the one-way system is usually fine, though the controlled zone around the town centre near Clarence Street and the Cromwell Road bus station can be tight, so a quick word about access helps.

On the day the cleaner arrives with the tank already warming. A single oven is roughly an hour and a half, a double or range nearer two and a half, an AGA a morning. You do not need to empty cupboards or prep anything. Keep pets out of the kitchen while the door is off and the parts are out, and that is the only ask.

When it is done we run the fan, reassemble everything, and show you the inside before we go. Then you cook in it. To book, call 0333 555 2076 or email [email protected], and if it is out of hours leave a message with your postcode and we ring back the next working day.

Frequently asked questions

How much is oven cleaning in Kingston upon Thames?

A single oven is £77, a double is £110, a 90cm range cooker is £114, and a two-oven AGA is £143. Add-ons are a hob at £23 to £28, an extractor at £28, and a microwave at £22. The price is fixed before we start.

Can I use the oven the same day you clean it?

Yes. Our solution is non-caustic and does not need to cure or air out, so once we have reassembled and run the fan for a minute you can put a tray in within the hour. Same-day use is the main reason people choose this method.

Is the method safe and non-toxic?

We use a non-caustic dip-tank rather than caustic soda gel. It does not off-gas the way supermarket oven products do, so your kitchen is not full of fumes for the rest of the day, and it is gentler on aluminium trays and printed control knobs.

What does the dip-tank actually clean?

The removable parts go in the tank: shelves, side racks, trays, the fan cover and the grill pan. The cavity itself, the door glass and the seal are done by hand while those parts soak. You get the whole oven back, every part of it.

Do you clean the glass between the oven door panes?

Where the door is the kind that comes apart safely, yes, we split it and clean the inner glass where the drips collect. On doors that are sealed or risky to dismantle we tell you straight rather than forcing it and cracking the glass.

The standard: enamel back to black gloss, racks bright, glass clear.

Do you clean hobs and extractors as well?

Yes, as add-ons to an oven clean. A hob is £23 to £28 and an extractor is £28 with filters included. Because Kingston water is hard at around 282 ppm we descale as well as degrease, which matters for furred-up burner caps and extractor filters.

Why does Kingston’s hard water matter for my oven and hob?

The supply here runs around 282 parts per million off the local chalk and clay, which is firmly hard. That scale builds on hob trivets and bakes into extractor metal alongside grease, so cleaning here means descaling as well as wiping, if you want it to last.

Can you clean an AGA or a range cooker?

Yes. A 90cm range is £114 and a two-oven AGA is £143. The AGA takes a morning because the cast iron is cleaned by hand, cold, with the correct wadding, rather than dipped, and that care is built into the price.

What if I am not happy with the result?

Tell us before we leave or call the same day on 0333 555 2076. We come back and put the patch right at no charge. The re-clean guarantee has no form and no quibble, because a fixed-scope job like an oven should simply be done properly.

Which parts of the borough do you cover?

All of it: KT1 in the town centre and Canbury, Norbiton, Surbiton, New Malden and out to Tolworth and Chessington. We are based at 255 Upper Richmond Road West in SW14, a short run up from Kingston, so the whole Royal Borough is local to us.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive?

No prep. You do not need to empty cupboards or buy anything. Just tell us your cavity count and any add-ons when you book, give us a word about parking near the town centre, and keep pets out of the kitchen while the oven is in pieces.

A firm price in about ninety seconds.

Tell us the oven type when you call and the figure will not change on the day.
