Putney kitchens hand us everything from a tired single oven in a flat over the High Street shops to a range in West Putney that has never once been cleaned behind the door glass. We take them back to bare enamel at a fixed price, and you can cook that evening.

Last updated July 2026. Prices and the areas we cover are checked each season, so what you read here is what you pay.

A single oven is £77 and a double is £110, fixed before we arrive. Hobs, extractor hoods and microwaves get done on the same visit for a few pounds more.

What oven cleaning costs in Putney

A standard single oven is £77. A double oven is £110. A 90cm range cooker is £114, and an AGA is £143, because an AGA is half a day of careful work on what amounts to a cast-iron building. While we are in the kitchen it makes sense to do the lot: a hob is £23 to £28 depending on size and type, an extractor hood is £28, and a microwave is £22.

Those are the real prices, not openers. Nobody rings you mid-job to announce that the grease turned out worse than expected. If your cooker sits somewhere between sizes, describe it on the phone or text us a photo and we price it before the visit, not on your doorstep.

The one thing we ask in advance concerns AGAs: switch the cooker off the day before, because we cannot work on castings that are still holding heat.

How the clean actually works

Everything removable comes out: racks, trays, side runners, and the door itself where the hinges allow. Those parts go into a heated dip tank in the van and soak while we work indoors, which is how the fiddly chrome comes back bright without an hour of scrubbing at your sink.

Inside the cavity we use a paste that stays where it is put rather than a caustic spray that fills the kitchen with fumes. Floor and worktops get sheeted first. Burnt carbon is softened, scraped and polished off, the fan is degreased behind its back plate, and the door glass comes apart for cleaning between the panes wherever the design allows it.

A single oven takes about ninety minutes. A range or an AGA is closer to three hours.

A single oven takes about ninety minutes, a double roughly two hours, a range or an AGA closer to three. When we leave, the oven is dry, safe and ready to use, so the Sunday roast can go straight in.

What we will not do is pretend. Chipped enamel, a perished door seal and browning trapped inside a bonded glass panel are damage, not dirt. We point those out and leave them alone rather than charge you for a miracle.

A clean oven cooks cleaner: no smoke, no old-grease smell, just dinner.

A word on self-cleaning ovens, because Putney’s newer kitchens are full of them. The pyrolytic cycle burns residue in the cavity to ash and does nothing for the racks, the door glass, the seals or the hood filter above. We meet a lot of ovens whose owners assumed the button was doing the whole job. If yours has the function, fine; we still hand-finish everything the cycle cannot reach.

Putney kitchens and what turns up in them

The appliance mix here tracks the housing. In the Edwardian conversions off the Lower Richmond Road we mostly meet narrow galley kitchens with one built-under single oven that has served three tenancies back to back. In the riverside blocks, Putney Wharf and the newer flats off Brewhouse Lane, it is integrated singles and touch-control hobs, barely used on weekdays and hammered at the weekend.

Out toward West Putney and the streets around the Dover House estate, the kitchens grow up: double ovens, 90cm ranges and a steady trickle of AGAs. Family cooking six days a week is honest work for an oven, and it shows in the grease.

Two notes from the vans. Furnished lets usually hold the oldest oven in the building, because nothing gets replaced while it still technically heats, and those ovens want the longest soak. And London water is hard, around 280 milligrams of calcium carbonate per litre in this part of Thames Water’s area, so steam ovens and hob glass pick up a white mineral film; we strip the scale off while we are there.

The mansion flats on Putney Hill sit somewhere in between, older kitchens in solid buildings, and the ovens in them are often twenty years old and still worth cleaning properly rather than replacing.

Hobs split the same way. Gas rings and pan supports in the older terraces, which want the dip tank, and flat induction glass in the new blocks, which wants a blade held at the right angle and the right polish, because a scratch is the one mark you cannot clean away. We carry kit for both. Recirculating hoods hide a charcoal filter that has usually never been changed; we cannot clean charcoal, but we will tell you if yours is past it.

Rented kitchens, landlords and moving days

A good slice of Putney rents rather than owns, from sharers above the High Street shops to families on two-year lets, and the oven decides how a kitchen inspection goes. Nobody photographs a clean cupboard. Everyone photographs a dirty oven.

Tenants book us in the final week of a tenancy and keep the receipt. Landlords and agents book us between tenants, often with a carpet clean in Putney on the same morning, and we can invoice a management company directly if that is easier. If the whole flat needs doing rather than the kitchen alone, we also run an end of tenancy cleaning service in Putney.

One request: empty the oven and clear us a metre of worktop. We bring everything else, including our own water, which matters more than you would think in a top-floor conversion with no outside tap.

Timing note for movers: Putney’s turnover weeks bunch at the end of summer when the September tenancies begin, and the diary fills early. If your check-out date is already fixed, book the oven a fortnight ahead rather than ringing us the day before and hoping.

Who we are and how to book

Monster Cleaning Ltd, company number 9919639, working across London since 2014, with the office at 255 Upper Richmond Road West, one straight road away from Putney. The oven technicians carry their own kit and their own water, so awkward flats are not a problem.

We score 3.1 from 128 reviews on Trustpilot. We would sooner show you that figure with our replies attached than pose as a five-star firm; when something goes wrong we go back and put it right, and the reviews show both halves of that.

Booking is a call to 0333 555 2076 or an email to [email protected] with your postcode and what the cooker is. Fixed price back the same day, and usually a slot inside the week. We cover all of SW15, river to Heath. If you are comparing quotes, ask the other firm whether their number includes the racks, the door glass and the fan plate. Ours does.

The wider picture of the service itself is on our main oven cleaning page, and plenty of customers add a regular domestic clean in Putney once they have seen what the kitchen looks like afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

How much does oven cleaning cost in Putney?

A single oven is £77, a double £110, a 90cm range £114 and an AGA £143. Add a hob for £23 to £28 depending on type, an extractor hood for £28 or a microwave for £22 on the same visit. Every price is fixed when you book.

How long does an oven clean take?

About ninety minutes for a single oven, roughly two hours for a double and closer to three for a range or an AGA. The removable parts spend that time soaking in the heated dip tank in the van, which is what gets them properly clean without wrecking your sink.

Can I cook in the oven the same day?

Yes, the same evening. The paste we use in the cavity is non-caustic, and everything is rinsed, wiped and dried before we leave, so there is no burning-off period and no chemical smell hanging around the flat.

The standard: enamel back to black gloss, racks bright, glass clear.

Do you clean AGAs and range cookers?

We do. An AGA is £143 and needs switching off the day before so the castings are cool enough to work on. A 90cm range is £114. Both are slower jobs than a standard oven, which the price reflects, and West Putney keeps us in practice.

Will the door glass come up like new?

Usually, because we take the door apart and clean between the panes wherever the design allows. The honest exceptions are staining sealed inside a bonded double-glazed panel and glass etched by years of burnt sugar. We show you rather than promise it away.

Do you work for landlords and letting agents?

All the time. We can meet a tenant at the flat, collect keys from an agent’s office or invoice a management company directly. Every job comes with a dated receipt, which is the piece of paper that matters when a kitchen is being inspected.

What do I need to do before you arrive?

Not much. Empty the oven, clear a stretch of worktop, and if your street is permit-only tell us when you book; we check the Wandsworth zone rules for your road before we set out. An AGA needs turning off the day before. That is the lot.

Is the price really fixed?

Yes. The number you are given when you describe the oven is the number on the invoice. If a cooker turns out bigger or stranger than described, we say so before starting, not after, and you can send us away at no charge if the revised price does not suit.

A firm price in about ninety seconds.
