How we actually clean an oven
We take the oven apart. The shelves, the runners, the side racks, the inner glass panel of the door and the fan cover where a machine allows it, all come out and go into a heated tank that lifts baked-on carbon off in the solution rather than by scraping. While those soak, we hand-clean the cavity, the door seal and the roof of the oven, the bit that drips brown when nobody has touched it in a while. Then it all goes back together, the glass gets polished, and we run the oven for a moment to check it heats.
The tank system matters in a flat. It means we are not painting thick caustic paste round your cavity and leaving fumes hanging in the kitchen. In a converted villa where the kitchen opens onto the living space, or a small rental where there is nowhere for a smell to go, that is the difference between a clean you can stand next to and one you have to open every window for.

Range cookers and compact rental ovens
Notting Hill kitchens split roughly two ways, and the oven job splits with them. How the day goes
We turn up on time with the tank, the tools and our own water, so we are not tying up your kitchen sink for an hour. An oven you have left completely alone is easier for us than one somebody has half-attacked.
Parking needs a plan here, as it does anywhere in the borough. Kensington and Chelsea is a run of controlled parking zones and a resident permit never guarantees a space, so we sort the meter or the bay ourselves and build it into the arrangement rather than springing it on your bill. One local note: over the August bank holiday the Carnival closes streets across the area, and a van cannot reach some addresses inside the route, so if that is you we will simply book you before or after the weekend.
A single oven usually takes around an hour and a half, a double or a range longer, and an AGA is a day. We clean up after ourselves, take the dirty solution away with us, and leave the kitchen as we found it bar a much cleaner cooker. If something is not right, tell us and we will put it straight.
